Past and present members of the Australian Defence Force came together at the Australian War Memorial on 9 July to honour Indigenous personnel who have served and fought in 'Defence of Country' - the theme for this year’s NAIDOC celebrations.

Past and present Australian Defence Force Reservists from all three services paraded on Hobart’s waterfront on Sunday 6 July. Simultaneously around 20,000 Reservists marched at 20 other locations around Australia.

The Melbourne Detachment of the Royal Australian Navy Band celebrated the Navy Band’s 101st Birthday in true festive style, hosting two Soundwaves Concerts that included iconic music, cake and most importantly, guest appearances by twenty ex-serving musicians from the Royal Australian Navy Band Association.

The Navy AFL team conduct some ruck training in preparation for the annual Sydney II Memorial AFL Match against the Air Force.

For the third consecutive year West Coast Eagles and Sydney Swans will compete for the HMAS Sydney II Memorial Trophy during an AFL premiership round at Patersons Stadium in Fremantle. The match commemorates the battle of HMAS Sydney II and the German Raider Kormoran where 645 members of Sydney II’s ship’s company lost their lives.
