HMAS Canberra's Well Dock receives the first of four of the ship's Landing Craft for the very first time.

The idea of a ship letting 4,200 tonnes, or 4.2 million litres of water into a large space inside its stern may sound crazy, but for the Landing Helicopter Dock, that is exactly what happens when the ship 'docks down'.

Warrant Officer of the Navy Martin Holzberger joined his service warrant officer counterparts for a visit to the Middle East Region from 2-6 February.

Able Seaman Maritime Logistics - Cook Daniel Hancock provides culinary support to a detachment of 13th Brigade soldiers as part of the Australian Defence Forces logistics effort assisting fire fighters combating the bushfires burning in the Northcliffe and Pemberton areas in Western Australia.

The Australian Government recently responded to a request from the Western Australian government for the provision of Defence support to bushfire fighting efforts in the south west of the state.

Innovative Sailor, Leading Seaman Marine Technician Nimrod Arevalo, shows off his machined screw cap belonging to a diesel governor onboard HMAS Success. Without the part, the whole governor would have to be replaced.

A Marine Technician on board HMAS Success has been praised for initiating a series of innovative projects to improve his ship’s capability and the safety of those on board.

A cargo dhow passes by as the HMAS Success boarding party boards a vessel in the Gulf of Aden for Operation MANITOU.

It’s all in a day’s work for HMAS Success, as she has completed two maritime engagement operations with local fisherman off the Arabian Sea in the space of an afternoon.
