Year 1 students and Principal Lee MacMaster of St Andrew's with members of HMAS Cairns and Ardent Crews collecting season's greetings for sailors on operations over Christmas.

Students from Saint Andrew’s Catholic College in Cairns have given a special gift to the men and women from Cairns-based Fleet Units who will be serving at sea over the Christmas period this year.

Director Navy Training Captain Mike Spruce presented St Andrew's Cathedral School student Jessie Quinn with the Australian Defence Force Long Tan Leadership and Teamwork Award for her contribution to the Year 7 Drama Club and her community work, including helping to build a school in Fiji, at a ceremony on 25 November.

Community service and strong school leadership was recognised in Year 10 student Jessie Quinn from St Andrew’s Cathedral School (SACS) when she received an Australian Defence Force Long Tan Leadership and Teamwork Award on 25 November.

Hundreds of students from schools throughout the Shoalhaven visit HMAS Albatross every year to participate in a wide range of vocational programs.

Leading Seaman Brooke Oram manning the Navy Community Engagement Program stall at the Swansea Country Fair.

Tasmanians love the first day of December as it is officially the first day of summer. This year the weather behaved as it should, with clear blue skies and comfortable temperatures. And Navy didn’t miss the opportunity to ‘fly the flag’ and mingle with the crowds.

Six members from Sensis Newcastle were given the opportunity to visit Garden Island and tour HMAS Parramatta, after they won an internal competition, inspired by Navy Values.

Six personnel serving at Anglesea Barracks, four of them Navy and two of them Army, participated in this year’s Movember campaign, helping to raise awareness of men’s health issues and funds to combat them.

The HMAS Albatross Show‘n’Shine provides vehicle enthusiasts with a chance to show off their prized cars and bikes in an event which is focused on family fun and raising funds for two charities, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund and the Australian Leukodystrophy Support Group.
