Commodore Training, Commodore Michael Rothwell, RAN greets special guest Mr David Manning at the Emms Division graduation Parade.

When General Entry 319, Emms Division, graduated from the Royal Australian Navy’s Recruit School at HMAS Cerberus recently, there was a very special guest in the audience whose presence made the graduates stand a little taller than usual.

Once again there is a call to arms for the honour of being crowned Navy’s champion shot in 2014. The Royal Australian Navy is competing against the Army’s marksmen and a host of international competitors in the 2014 Australian Army Skills at Arms Meeting at Puckapunyal from 30 April to 16 May 2014.

Family and friends come together to mark the ninth anniversary of the loss of nine ADF personnel who lost their lives when Sea King Shark 02 crashed during a humanitarian support mission on the Indonesian island of Nias in April 2005.

A memorial rededication service held at HMAS Albatross today marked the ninth anniversary of the loss of the Sea King helicopter ‘Shark 02’, which crashed in 2005 while supporting a humanitarian support mission on the Indonesian island of Nias. Nine Australian Defence Force personnel were killed in the crash.

Acting Commander Australian Fleet, Commodore Jonathan Mead AM, RAN, presents representative for the Navy Establishments combined team, Petty Officer Jason Lockard, with the Perry Cup, awarded to the team crowned to be the overall winner of the 2014 Fleet Commanders Challenge at Randwick Barracks, Sydney, NSW.

The Fleet Commander’s Challenge Trophy was retained by Establishments this week, who withstood tough competition from Navy's east based ships by demonstrating great prowess on the sports fields.

After completing an Operation RESOLUTE deployment in Darwin, HMAS Ballarat commenced a fast transit down the West Coast towards Fleet Base West. Ballarat was in company with HMAS Success as they passed through one of the most important areas on Australia’s long coastline.
