The Royal Australian Navy's partnership with Ford Performance Racing raced into its fourth year on January 19, with the latest rotation of Navy's technical sailors stepping into the high tech world of V8 Supercars.

For Petty Officer Steven Schonrock of Maryborough, Queensland, swapping travelling around Australia and working as a deckhand, for travelling around the world working as a Combat Systems Operator in the Royal Australian Navy was a challenging but rewarding step.

On 4 July, Commander Jeffrey Booker achieved fifty years of service in the Royal Australian Navy and on 10 December he was presented with his third Federation Star by Chief of Navy, Vice Admiral Tim Barrett.
