Navy’s people are being challenged to sharpen their mental edge and fighting mindset using the Chief of Navy Vice Admiral Michael Noonan’s latest Professional Resource List.

In 1889, British Lieutenant General William F Butler wrote “The nation that will insist on drawing a broad demarcation between the fighting man and the thinking man is liable to have its fighting done by fools and its thinking done by cowards.”

Chief of Navy, Vice Admiral Mike Noonan says Navy will take on a different focus in the coming months with improvements in the personnel space as well as a stronger regional presence in 2019.

Vice Admiral Tim Barrett, AO, CSC, RAN handed over command of the Royal Australian Navy to Vice Admiral Michael Noonan, AO, RAN during a ceremonial parade at Blamey Square at Russell in Canberra.

Vice Admiral Tim Barrett has formally ended his term as Chief of Navy, following a handover ceremony at Blamey Square in Canberra. VADM Barrett ended his Permanent Navy career in style, with an honour guard and fly past in his honour.
