Team Navy has received a major boost, joining Mildura’s Blaine Grills Racing. The association coincides with the start of the Victorian Formula Ford season for 2018 with Blaine Grills driving car number 68.
Car owners Mark and Peta Grills believe Team Navy’s support underscores the Mildura-based outfit's serious commitment to perform at the highest level this season.
"It’s Blaine’s first full year in Formula Ford after achieving outstanding results during 2017 in Formula Vee and he is confident of taking those skills into Formula Ford in 2018,” Mark Grills said.
"The support from Team Navy is a terrific vote of confidence in our race programme and a great bunch of people in our team - many of whom have worked with us for many years," Mark said.
BG Racing struck a strategic alliance with the Royal Australian Navy through its programme that works with high performance sporting teams and individuals to promote and enhance Navy brand recognition - particularly in regional Australia.
The Grills family and their race team are committed to the same organisational goals as Navy, according to Team Navy Manager, Lieutenant Commander Don Hogarth.
"Each week they are testing themselves and their technologically-advanced equipment and tactics against the very best in a no-holds barred contest,” Lieutenant Commander Hogarth said.
After all the hard work over the past few months, the racing can't come soon enough for Blaine Grills.
"I've been actively involved in Karts since 2007. I'm getting a bigger adrenaline kick than ever out of going racing now," Blaine said.
"We're a small team, with a great bunch of people who get a big kick out of the challenge of Formula Ford racing and we're delighted to have terrific new supporters like Team Navy working with us,” Team Manager Mark Grills said.
