Australians and Indians often bond over cricket, so sport was a natural addition to the program of the recent exercise between the navies of the two nations.

The Australian Defence Force surfers came out the victors, taking home the trophy with the highest overall points tally and firsts in every individual event and the teams’ category at the inaugural Defence International Surf Festival.

Some of the Australian Defence Force’s best surfers took on, and defeated British Army and Royal Air Force surfing teams at the inaugural Defence International Surf Festival on in early May.

The Anzac Challenge Cup is presented to the coach of the Australian Defence Force All-Stars, Sergeant Debono.

Playing against traditional rivals the Australian Combined Emergency Services, in front of an estimated 12,000 people, the Australian Defence Force Aussie Rules All-Stars men’s team has won the Anzac Challenge trophy for the fourth consecutive year.

One of Navy's leading triathletes, Leading Seaman Electronics Technician Joel MacAllister, of HMAS Stirling, was fastest sailor across the line in the Military Division in Ironman New Zealand at Taupo in early March.
