The inaugural Women in Navy program has recently seen its first group of young females experience life at sea off the coast of New South Wales.
HMAS Melbourne has hosted 14 young women on board for the ship’s recent transit from Sydney to Jervis Bay as part of the four-day ‘Women in Navy’ work experience program.
Navy has welcomed its first graduating class from the Indigenous Pre-Recruit Program which prepares Indigenous men and women for Defence careers.
Cairns-based Navy personnel have proudly shown off their ship and career paths to a group of students interested in seeing a military lifestyle first hand.
