Members of Australia's Federation Guard conduct the Last Post ceremony at the Australian War Memorial, Canberra.

Tonight at the Australian War Memorial, during the Last Post Ceremony, the story of Leading Aircrewman Noel Ervin Shipp will be read in honour of his sacrifice in the service of his country, Australia. His story will be read by Medal for Gallantry recipient, Chief Petty Officer Ben Sime.

When General Entry 319, Emms Division, graduated from the Royal Australian Navy’s Recruit School at HMAS Cerberus recently, there was a very special guest in the audience whose presence made the graduates stand a little taller than usual.

ASC Apprentices Jayden Cairns and Courtney Bird lay the coin in the keel of the second Air Warfare Destroyer at the ASC Shipyards.

This week another milestone was reached for the Air Warfare Destroyer project when the keel of the Royal Australian Navy’s second destroyer, NUSHIP Brisbane was laid in Adelaide.

Navy Chaplain Cornelis Bosch addresses the 72nd Anniversary of the Battle of Sunda Strait.

Two of just six surviving members of HMAS Perth (I), together with descendants of other Perth sailors and Deputy Chief of Navy, Rear Admiral Michael van Balen RAN gathered at the Australian War Memorial today to commemorate the ship’s loss 72 years ago.

The Australian Defence Force Academy held its graduation parade on Thursday December 12, 2013. 265 midshipmen and officer cadets graduated from their military training and tertiary education at the Academy.

Throwing their hats in the air today marked not only the end of their training and studies at the Australian Defence Force Academy but also the start of a new phase in the military careers of 265 midshipmen and officer cadets.

A memorial and wreath laying service was held by the HMAS Sydney Association at the Cenotaph at Martin Place on 19 November 2013 to mark the 72nd anniversary of the sinking of HMAS Sydney (II).

The HMAS Perth (I) memorial service onboard HMAS Ballarat (II) was administered by Ballarat’s chaplain, Chaplain Rendall Walker.

HMAS Ballarat held a moving memorial service to commemorate the crew of HMAS Perth (I) while passing through the Sunda Strait yesterday.

A team of 16 people from NUSHIP Canberra augmented the Australia's Federation Guard (AFG) for two high profile activities last month.
