Australians and Indians often bond over cricket, so sport was a natural addition to the program of the recent exercise between the navies of the two nations.

HMAS Success took to the field of sports diplomacy recently, playing a keenly fought game of soccer and two games of volleyball against members of the Royal Malaysian Navy during a visit to Langkawi, Malaysia.

Leading Seaman Electronics Technician Gerard Reeves dazzles the opposition with his fancy footwork during a friendly football game against the Malaysian Navy during a visit to Kemaman, Malaysia.

One month into their North East Asian deployment HMA Ships Arunta and Sirius joined forces to take on the Royal Malaysian Navy in a friendly game of soccer during a port visit to Kemaman. It was a hotly contested game with both teams demonstrating a high level of competitiveness however it was the Malaysians who came out on top winning 3-1.
