Excellence in Customer Service medallions presented to Ms Cheryl Sayers and Ms Celestine Stamos who have managed ticketing operations for Navy Canteens for the last 14 and 7 years respectively.

The 19th of June has heralded the beginning of a significant change for the well-known service, Navy Ticketing.

The service that has been provided by Navy Canteens for over two decades will be relocating from Sydney to Canberra as part of a range of changes that respond to calls for a wider variety of shows and other benefits for Navy personnel and their families across Australia.

In announcing the changes, Navy Canteens CEO Allan Hansard paid tribute to long standing employees Ms Cheryl Sayers and Ms Celestine Stamos who have managed the ticketing operations at Defence Plaza for the last 14 and 7 years respectively. 

“Cheryl and Celestine have decided not to relocate to Canberra to be part of the new operations,” Mr Hansard said. 

“While it is sad to see them go, they leave behind a strong foundation on which to build the new operation. Their contribution to the organisation has been significant and we thank them for their dedicated service over many years. 

“It is amazing to think that over their time of employment Cheryl and Celestine have personally provided more than 100,000 tickets to Defence personnel, including tickets to the Sydney Symphony Orchestra and the Australian tours of Pink and AC/DC. 

In recognition of their service to the Defence family, Cheryl and Celestine were presented with the Excellence in Customer Service medallion at a special morning tea in their honour.

Mr Hansard went on to also acknowledge the efforts of Ms Georgia Hill who has formed part of the Navy Ticketing team over the last 12 months.

“Our aim is to continue to deliver a high level of service while Navy Canteens Ticketing is undergoing this change.

“We welcome your feedback on any issues or suggestions that you have over this period,” Mr Hansard said.
