Fire-fighters from the Western Australian Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) recently teamed up with the School of Ships’ Survivability and Safety Training Facility – West (RANSSSS TF-W) at HMAS Stirling to hone their maritime fire-fighting skills.

Personnel from Fleet Support Unit West, Park Rangers and Base Services gather around their haul after collecting rubbish at Cray Bay, the northern end of Garden Island, Western Australia.

The beaches of Garden Island, the location of HMAS Stirling and Fleet Base West, are considerably cleaner after a recent major clean-up by Navy, the Department of Defence, the WA State Government, and contractor Broadspectrum.

Driver Blaine Grills displays his Formula Ford’s new Team Navy livery as he takes turn four at Sandown Raceway.

Team Navy has received a major boost, joining Mildura’s Blaine Grills Racing. The association coincides with the start of the Victorian Formula Ford season for 2018 with Blaine Grills driving car number 68.
