Navy has enjoyed a successful campaign at the Johnny Warren Cup football (soccer) tournament, with the women’s team taking home the first place trophy and the men’s veterans team progressing to the semi-finals.

The conditions could not have been better for a hotly contested game of soccer between HMA Ship’s Melbourne and Sirius, during a recent port visit in Singapore.

The sport of soccer is currently undergoing a resurgence at Fleet Base West, in Rockingham, after a busy 18 month period that has seen the team based at HMAS Stirling creating a strong impression in the local competition as well as against visiting ship’s teams.
