It was a breezy dawn under a cloudy Indian Ocean sky that greeted the men and women serving in HMAS Perth on Anzac Day 2014.

Personnel from HMAS Tobruk, the Australian Army and the Royal Australian Air Force have been awarded Military Civic Action medals by the Philippines Government for their assistance following Typhoon Haiyan in late 2013.

HMAS Darwin has again intercepted a suspected drug smuggling vessel operating in international waters, seizing 786 kilograms of narcotics with an estimated street value of $30 million.

HMAS Toowoomba comes onto station to conduct a Replenishment at Sea with HMAS Success while on Operation SOUTHERN INDIAN OCEAN in search of missing Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370.

As the search for MH370 enters a new phase, HMAS Toowoomba and MV Seahorse Standard have returned to their home port of Fleet Base West after completing their commitment to Operation SOUTHERN INDIAN OCEAN.

April marks the fifth anniversary of Navy’s cultural change journey under New Generation Navy (NGN). To mark this milestone, the Chief of Navy, Vice Admiral Ray Griggs, has recorded a video and launched a brochure to inform Navy people about what has been achieved since 2009.
