While HMAS Sydney (IV) was berthed in Yokosuka, Japan, a small group of sailors took the opportunity to attend the Japan vs. Australia World Cup qualifier, joining a thousand other Australians and a capacity crowd of 62000 to cheer on the Socceroos and Japan.
At the event, the Sydney (IV) shipmates made many friends, both Australian and Japanese, and had a great time, particularly as the final score was one-all, assisting Australia’s World Cup cause.
