Ship’s company of HMAS Success march off the ship for the last time during the decommissioning ceremony at Fleet Base East, Sydney.

HMAS Success (II), the longest serving ship in Navy’s Fleet, has completed her service to the nation and was decommissioned at her homeport at Sydney’s Garden Island on Saturday.

HMAS Success is now alongside in Sydney, preparing for her decomissioning, having returned from her last overseas deployment last week.

Challenge issued and accepted. A leading seaman aboard the retiring HMAS Success has created what is believed to be Navy’s first on-board star delta starter machine testing system.

It wasn’t quite a hot August night but it was a very humid night in May as the sounds of RASamataz drifted across the Sembawang Wharves, Singapore, for the last time.
