Australian Defence Force members take part in a dance ceremony where all members are encouraged to join in, at the end of each day during the 20th Anniversary of the Garma Festival.

Navy, Army and Air Force personnel were in attendance at the 20th Garma Festival in Gulkula, north-east Arnhem Land, Northern Territory earlier this month.

With the local mountain biking season in full swing, ten energetic sailors from HMAS Cairns saddled up for a day of physical challenges as they represented Navy in the RRR Mountain Bike Challenge.

Receiving the highly coveted Federation Star is a milestone in anyone’s career, and on Friday 29 July, Lieutenant Commander Guy Burton, RAN was presented with his Federation Star by Chief of Navy Vice Admiral Michael Noonan, AO, RAN at HMAS Stirling, the home of the Submarine Force in Rockingham, Western Australia.

Twelve young women with a keen interest in mechanical and technical trades from across Australia recently attended the Women in Navy Technical Trades Camp at HMAS Cairns.
