The dangers posed by explosive remnants of war in the Solomon Islands will again be tackled with the commencement of Operation RENDER SAFE 16 over the weekend.

HMAS Perth's MH-60R leaves the flight deck while the ship is in Victoria, Seychelles, to assist the Seychelles' Coast Guard in a search and rescue mission after a civilian boat capsized during the night.

HMAS Perth and its embarked MH-60R helicopter supported a search and rescue off the coast of Seychelles on 14 August.

HMAS Perth prepare to take over patrol from HMAS Darwin in the Middle East Region as part of Operation MANITOU.

HMAS Perth has notched up more-than 10,000 nautical miles since leaving Australia on 7 June, and Commanding Officer, Captain Ivan Ingham, said his crew has now settled in to their Middle East deployment.
