Leading Seaman Hydrographic Systems Operator Cameron Rea from Deployable Geospatial Survey Team One makes final checks on the survey equipment before flying to Hobart to join Aurora Australis for a surveying deployment to the Australian Antarctic Region.

Far from his hometown of Dubbo, Leading Seaman Cameron Rea will live his childhood dream when he sails for Antarctica onboard an icebreaker to conduct a surveying mission as part of the Royal Australian Navy.

At a Promotions and Awards Ceremony held at HMAS Cerberus on Friday 1st of November 2013, 14 presentations made before assembled Ships Company personnel, family and friends, with the last presentation made to six year old Isabel York.

2013 proved to be a very busy year for HMAS Sydney. The warship travelled to Hobart in the south to Busan in the North, Mackay in the East and Fremantle in the West and many other ports along the way.

Over the past 18 months, the New Generation Navy's Embed Signature Behaviours Team has delivered Crucial Performance Conversations Courses across Australia to help Navy people to communicate more effectively. Recently, the ESB Team enabled Navy's overseas personnel to take advantage of this training.

The ship's company of HMAS Bathurst, crewed by Aware Three line the deck of the Armidale Class Patrol Boat for a photo opportunity, before the start of the Bathurst 1000 Race.

The crew of HMAS Bathurst were able to take a break from patrolling the line at Christmas Island for Operation RESOLUTE recently so they could enjoy the Bathurst 1000 Race.
