No place like home for Anzac

As the clock struck the 11th hour of the 11th day of November this year, HMAS Anzac III was sailing home across the Great Australian Bight after completing a challenging 12 week maintenance period away from her home port.

Navy sent a signal to the selectors when two HMAS Stirling-based sailors represented Western Australia in the recent Australian Defence Force Netball Championships held in Darwin.

The Navy to Navy relationship between Australia and India was deepened recently with HMAS Warramunga conducting exercises with INS Subhadra.

Plummeting 135 metres from the 33rd floor of a skyscraper, is not for the faint-hearted, but when the goal was to raise much-needed funding and awareness for the Sir David Martin Foundation the team from HMAS Success leapt to the challenge.

Ten talented Aussie Rules players from the Tiwi Islands recently travelled to Victoria for a mentoring opportunity with the Australian Defence Force’s Australian Rules Women’s Indigenous team and competed in the inaugural Victorian Aboriginal Community Services/AFL Victoria’s Koorie Women’s Carnival.
