The Commander Joint Operations Command, Lieutenant General Ash Power, has presented HMAS Anzac’s former Catering Department with a Group Commendation for its efforts and hard work while deployed to the Middle Eastern Area of Operations.

The final chapter in a naval tradition was closed with a low key yet dignified ceremony at the Royal Australian Navy Heritage Centre, Garden Island with the decommissioning of the legendary Esther Williams trophy.

2012 Queen's Gold Medal Winner Lieutenant Michelle Rayner, QM, RAN on the grounds of HMAS Creswell.

Winners of the Queen’s Gold Medal and Chief of Navy’s Sword for 2012 were announced on 24 June as Lieutenant Michelle Rayner and Sub Lieutenant Brody Marris, respectively.
