HMAS Ballarat ship's company prepare to cast off lines ahead of departure from Fleet Base West, Western Australia.

The Australian Defence Force (ADF) is assisting in the search and rescue effort for an injured solo yachtsman, approximately 1800 nautical miles off the West Australian coast.

Able Seaman Communications and Information Systems Nikolai Gunn-Brockhoff enjoys a cuddle with 11 month old son Leon after HMAS Toowoomba returned home to Fleet Base West after a long and busy seven month deployment.

HMAS Toowoomba has returned to its homeport of Fleet Base West, Rockingham, Western Australia, after the ship’s longest deployment to date, successfully contributing to seven Task Groups in seven months.

Personnel from the United Arab Emirates, Chile, Vietnam, Pakistan, Thailand, Indonesia, Japan and Brunei take part in a three day activity focused on how to plan a wide range of operations from humanitarian assistance and disaster relief to maritime conflict as part of Exercise Kakadu 2018.

As Exercise Kakadu reached a conclusion at sea, a land based challenge was taking place ashore.

Family and friends greet HMAS Success as she returns to her homeport of Fleet Base East, Sydney, after a five-month deployment through South East Asia and the Pacific.

HMAS Success returned to Fleet Base East on August 24 after a five month deployment to South East Asia and the Pacific, in support of Indo Pacific Endeavour and Exercise RIMPAC 18.

A Queensland Joint Organised Crime Taskforce (QJOCTF) operation in collaboration with Maritime Border Command (MBC) has yesterday resulted in the arrest of two men and the seizure of approximately 600 kilograms of cocaine.
