On a quiet Saturday morning in Hobart recently there was no shortage of high intensity effort on HMAS Choules, as a local football team was put through their paces by a Navy physical trainer.

The recent acceptance of martial arts into the list of approved sports by the Australian Defence Force Sports Council, and subsequent introduction of classes at HMAS Kuttabul, has proven a real 'hit' - keeping Navy members 'fit to fight'.

Royal Australian Navy sailor, Able Seaman Derrin Morgan, chips the ball from a bunker at the 2016 Australian Defence Force Golf Association Championship where he won the overall Navy competition.

More than four years after he used to teach the sport, former pro golfer Able Seaman Maritime Logisitics – Personnel Derrin Morgan schooled the reigning Navy champion at the Australian Defence Force Golf Championships in December.
