HMAS Darwin strikes again against drug smugglers

Over six tons of hashish seized during a recent boarding placed on the flight deck of HMAS Darwin, prior to destruction. Hashish was contained in 306 hessian bags each containing approximately 20 one kilogram coffee bags, a sample of which can be seen on top.

HMAS Darwin has struck again against drug smugglers, intercepting another vessel in the Arabian Sea and seizing more than 6.2 tonnes of narcotics with an estimated street value of almost $250 million.

Royal Australian Navy ship HMAS Parramatta visited Noumea, New Caledonia between Friday 27 and Sunday 29 June before commencing a patrol as part of Operation SOLANIA.

The Royal Australian Navy Frigate HMAS Parramatta departed Sydney this week on a three week deployment to the South Pacific, as part of Australia’s Operation SOLANIA.

Ardent One, embarked in HMAS Launceston, participated in the Multilateral Naval Exercise KOMODO from 29 March to 3 April 2014.

Family and friends gather at Garden Island, Sydney to welcome home their loved ones embarked on HMAS Newcastle, following a six month deployment to the Middle East Area of Operations.

The crew of the Adelaide class Guided Missile Frigate HMAS Newcastle has returned home to Sydney today, after a six-month deployment to the Middle East Area of Operations. Hundreds of loved ones were waiting for them on the wharf at Fleet Base East, Garden Island.

HMAS Melbourne has apprehended nine suspected pirates off the coast of Somalia during a maritime security patrol in the region.

First lines are passed as HMAS Huon prepares to berth alongside HMAS Waterhen, returning home after four months deployed assisting Operation RESOLUTE in Australia's north.

In September, just in time to participate in the International Fleet Review, HMAS Huon returned from four months on deployment, including a 12-week stint on Operation RESOLUTE.
