A group of 12 students from Comet Bay College in Secret Harbour, Western Australia, have presented hand-made laundry bags to sailors at local base, HMAS Stirling as a token of appreciation for their service.
Descending the ladder into a submarine was no trouble for Royal Navy veteran, 92-year old Robert Pitman, when the spritely nonagenarian visited HMAS Dechaineux alongside her home port in Western Australia recently.

Smiling, familiar faces greeted the crew of HMAS Dechaineux upon her return to Fleet Base West after a two month deployment to Tasmania and New Zealand. Arriving a week ahead of Christmas the submarine crew were welcomed by friends, family and representatives of the Submarine Force.
