Family and friends gather on Diamantina Wharf to welcome home to Fleet Base West HMAS Dechaineux after a South East Asia deployment.

HMAS Dechaineux returned to her home port at Fleet Base West just before Christmas, following a six month deployment to Asia and the east coast of Australia.

Bribie Island girl Bianca van Peperzeel, grew up girt by sea and now she sails all seven of them in her career in the Navy as part of the Submarine Force. Recently awarded her 'dolphins', a prestigious qualification reserved for submariners, she has visited India whilst serving onboard HMAS Sheean, a Collins class submarine.

Teams from HMAS Stirling complete a 24 hour spin bike challenge for the Ocsober charity.

Personnel from HMAS Stirling and Fleet Base West ported ships showed their support for Life Education’s ‘Ocsober’ by participating in a 24 hour spin bike marathon at the Fleet Base West gymnasium over 19-20 September.
