The HMAS Toowoomba team look on as Able Seaman Communications and Information Systems Spencer Doyle send his first bowl towards the jack.

Lawn bowls may invoke images of the elderly, but for a group of Navy members, the reality for Navy has been markedly different, as part of HMAS Stirling’s ongoing commitment to raising funds for children with disabilities.

HMAS Sirius crew members take part in a fitness class that also combined baton training in the ultimate Battle Physical Training session.

A focus on fitness is paying dividends for HMAS Sirius with eight crew members chosen to represent the Royal Australian Navy in various sports, including lawn bowls and weightlifting.
