Australia's Federation Guard form a Royal Guard for the opening of the The Royal Queensland Show.

A team of 16 people from NUSHIP Canberra augmented the Australia's Federation Guard (AFG) for two high profile activities last month.

Theatre in education company Poetry in Action has approached the Australian Defence Force to see if there’s anyone interested in sharing their works of poetry which may be included in a new show. The performance will tour as part of their annual program, which is seen by over 50,000 young Aussies across the country.

Recently, students and faculty staff from the United States Naval War College in Newport, Rhode Island, hosted a visit from 13 students and staff members from the Australian Command and Staff College.

Two Bell 429 helicopters from 723SQN and three Seahawk helicopters from 816SQN provided a fly past as the graduating recruits of General Entry 314 Shipp Division salute the Reviewing Officer for the Graduation Parade, RADM Tim Barrett, AM, CSC, RAN.

Family members of Noel Shipp, the namesake of the newest Division at Recruit School in HMAS Cerberus, were guests of honour at the first graduation on 30 August 2013.

In the hotly contested Defence category, Lieutenant Commander Darren Nasato, Commanding Officer of the Australian Joint Acoustic Analysis Centre was awarded the Shoalhaven ‘Boss of the Year’ title this year.

NUSHIP Canberra personnel visited Paediatrics at the Canberra Hospital (PatCH) on 16 September 2013 to join the ACT Veterans Rugby Club in presenting to the PatCH Foundation a $1000 donation from local Canberra based company iCognition.

Teams from HMAS Stirling complete a 24 hour spin bike challenge for the Ocsober charity.

Personnel from HMAS Stirling and Fleet Base West ported ships showed their support for Life Education’s ‘Ocsober’ by participating in a 24 hour spin bike marathon at the Fleet Base West gymnasium over 19-20 September.
