Able Seaman Maritime Logistics - Chef Lloyd McKean is about to remove a tray from the galley oven on board HMAS Melbourne at Fleet Base East, Sydney, NSW.

Grafton man, Able Seaman Lloyd McKean, will deploy to the Middle East Area of Operations on Sunday in the Australian warship HMAS Melbourne. He's tasked with feeding his 240 hungry shipmates three meals a day, seven days a week for more than six months.

Jerrad Coomber couldn’t be further from the snow that covers his hometown of Jindabyne in winter. In fact, the 27 year old Able Seaman is braving soaring temperatures and oppressive humidity in the Middle East where he is deployed on the Royal Australian Navy Ship HMAS Newcastle.
