HMAS Adelaide’s arrival into Port Moresby has brought the spotlight onto the enduring partnership between Papua New Guinea and Australia, the Australian Defence Force’s (ADF) maritime component commander for Operation APEC 18 ASSIST said.

Commanding Officer HMAS Adelaide, Captain Jonathan Earley, CSC, RAN, salutes the Royal Australian Navy Ensign at the memorial service for HMAS Canberra (I) on HMAS Adelaide during Indo-Pacific Endeavour 2018.

A service has been held on HMAS Adelaide to commemorate the sinking of HMAS Canberra (I) as the ship passed over the site while transiting to Honiara in the Solomon Islands during Indo-Pacific Endeavour 18.

Volunteers from HMAS Adelaide and HMAS Toowoomba assist Royal Solomon Islands Police Force personnel with the maintenance of the Seif Ples shelter for abused families during the port visit to Honiara in the Solomon Islands as a part of Indo-Pacific Endeavour 2018.

The Australian Defence Force has completed its final two port visits as part of Indo-Pacific Endeavour 2018, marking the conclusion of a three month journey across the Pacific, working with Pacific Island partners in support of regional prosperity and security.

Personnel involved in a medical evacuation from an island near Honiara, Solomon Islands, are transported to Honiara Referral Hospital from HMAS Adelaide.

The Australian Defence Force’s Indo-Pacific Endeavour Task Group has assisted the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force in rescuing four seriously injured people after a violent incident occurred in an outlying part of the country.
