Crew from HMAS Sirius are formed during the HMAS Westralia Fire 20th Year Anniversary Memorial Service on the HMAS Stirling Quarterdeck in honour of the tragedy that claimed the lives of four crew members: Midshipman Megan Pelly, Petty Officer Shaun Smith, Leading Seaman Bradley Meek, and Able Seaman Philip Carroll.
A commemoration has been held at HMAS
Stirling, Western Australia to remember the four lives that were lost 20 years ago in a fire on board the former supply vessel HMAS Westralia.

Stirling turned on the VIP treatment recently as part of the Royal Flying Doctor Service’s annual fundraising event, Altitude.

Commanding Officer HMAS Stirling, Captain Brian Delamont, RAN, presented Chief Petty Officer Clark with the Gold Discharge Medallion after 38 years of service in the Royal Australian Navy.
Chief Petty Officer Communications Information Systems Alan “Nobby” Clark has closed the door on his illustrious 38-year Permanent Navy career. A familiar face to anyone who has spent time at HMAS
Stirling and in ships based at Fleet Base West, Chief Clark will still occasionally be around the base in a Reserve capacity.
