The Australian and Papua New Guinean navies have successfully completed Exercise PARADISE off the coast of Darwin, sharing knowledge and rehearsing scenarios to improve regional security and interoperability between the forces.

Only six months after joining the Navy, Seaman Emily Wood has found herself on the ship bearing the name of her home town. After joining the Navy Gap Year program from the national capital in January she was recently given the opportunity to complete three weeks at sea onboard HMAS Canberra.

More than 5,000 people turned out to get a taste of life in the military when Larrakeyah Defence Precinct, Darwin, held an Open Day, with Navy’s HMAS Coonawarra combining the activity with Northern Territory Navy Week.
