General Entry 359 Shipp Division celebrate the completion of their Graduation Ceremony held at Recruit School, HMAS Cerberus, Victoria.

One hundred and twenty nine proud people from around Australia marked the first major milestone in their naval careers last week as they graduated from the Royal Australian Navy’s Recruit School.

Ninety-eight of Navy's newest Recruits formally completed their initial training at the Royal Australian Navy’s Recruit School at HMAS Cerberus on 6 March, but one family was marking the entry of its third generation into the Australian Defence Force.

Family members of Noel Shipp, the namesake of the newest Division at Recruit School in HMAS Cerberus, were guests of honour at the first graduation on 30 August 2013.

Today, for the first time in history, the Royal Australian Navy’s Recruit School graduated a recruit division which was named after a sailor.
