Staff and cadets from Australian Navy Cadet units Australia, Hawkesbury and Sirius joined HMAS Melbourne in December for a day of fun and education about life at sea.

HMAS Stuart wrapped up 2014 in style with a families' cruise on 18 December to thank those who had supported the ship over what was a long and demanding year for the ‘Tartan Terror’.

More than 200 people took advantage of the rare opportunity to tread the tarmac when the T-shaped HMAS Albatross airfield was closed for the fifth annual ‘Tour the T’ charity fun run in early December.

HMAS Canberra takes pride of place between the Sydney Opera House and the Sydney Harbour Bridge during the Australia Day ceremony, which involved a 21 gun salute to His Excellency General The Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Ret'd) Governor of New South Wales.

Almost as high as the Sydney Harbour Bridge, and longer than two football fields, no-one could miss HMAS Canberra as she took centre stage in Sydney Harbour for the Australia Day celebrations.

After a well earned Christmas break the ship’s company of HMAS Canberra have taken the newly commissioned Landing Helicopter Dock to sea for the first time this year. In the lead up to Australia Day where the ship will take centre stage on Sydney Harbour, the crew have been put through a range of scenarios to ensure the ship’s safety.
