The Royal Australian Navy’s HMAS Warramunga has visited Melbourne for some crew down time and to hold an open day for the public.

Navy Cadets navigate the obstacle course during activities at the Sport and Recreation Centre, HMAS Cerberus, Victoria.

More than 150 Australian Navy Cadets from around the country have spent the week at HMAS Cerberus on the Mornington Peninsula for a National Training Camp, coinciding with Navy Week 2018.

At first glance, seeing five Navy personnel west of Amberley Air Base seems a bit odd. But dig a little deeper and there is a good reason that the Navy Community Engagement Program (NCEP) Team from HMAS Moreton saddled up the wagons and headed west.

Blood donors from south-east Queensland’s HMAS Moreton have helped Navy to a leading place in three of the four Defence Blood Challenge categories.

As a parting favour for retiring Chief Petty Officer Bernard Matson, personnel from HMAS Moreton rolled up their sleeves and donated enough blood to save 30 lives.
