A love of the water inspired a Canberra local to buck a family trend of Air Force service and join the Navy instead.
After five months of intensive training, Navy has graduated its newest cohort of officers from the Royal Australian Naval College, HMAS Creswell.
It was a red-letter day at HMAS Watson on 2 May, with one half of the first married couple to graduate from the same Principal Warfare Officers Course also being awarded overall dux.
Proud families and friends attended the graduation Parade of General Entry 349 Emms Divisions which for the first time in Navy’s history consisted of more women than men.
While December marked the start of summer, rain and 12 degrees greeted families and friends of General Entry 348, Taylor Division on their graduation from the Royal Australian Navy Recruit School on 8 December.
